Glenn Shambroom started his musical career as a guitar player and made his living for many years as a guitarist, playing Rhythm & Blues-, Rock & Roll-, Country & Western and Soul music. Later in his career he began playing saxophone and for the last fifteen years he has played mostly R & B, Jazz and Rock and has played more sax than guitar since then.

Glenn is a member of the Massachusetts-based band "The Love Dogs". Shambroom performs with saxes within the range of sopranino- to bass-saxophone and he does it well. On his own CDs, "Make Room for Snappy" and "Include Me Out" he plays mostly baritone but also sopranino, soprano and bass. He has tasty sax-arrangements on his CDs and he blends his bari-sound with the other saxes in an interesting way. His favourite music writers are Monk and Wayne Shorter but for his own CD he was thinking more in the lines of people like Benny Golson, Horace Silver, Gerry Mulligan and Oliver Nelson. Sax players that have influenced him are among others; Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, Leo Parker, Gerry Mulligan, Pepper Adams ….. "Without a doubt, though, the musicians that have had the biggest impact on me are Jimi Hendrix and John Coltrane. It doesn´t matter what kind of music you´re into, guys like that have so much going on in every way imagnable it´s mind boggling" concluded his thoughts about his musical-influences.

GLENN SHAMBROOM & FRIENDS - INCLUDE ME OUT - Together with Billy Nowick(ww), Tom West (keys), Greg Holt (bass), Ed Scheer (dr), Zac Casher (dr) and Larry Carsman (gt) Glenn Shambroom has made a great CD with seven tunes of his own and one written together with Tom West. The collaboration with Nowick is perfect. Shambrooms tone and way of playing on his baritonesax is airy and kind of nordic in it´s style.
